Washington, D.C.-centered indie pop singer Sarah Shannon was the lead singer and center point for Velocity Girl, whose 3 early-’90s albums, Copacetic, Simpatico, and Gilded Famous actors and Zealous Hearts, reworked the English shoegazer aesthetic right into a distinctly first form. When that music group divide in 1996, Shannon shaped the short-lived Starry Eye, who split up after launching an individual EP in 1997. Shannon after that embarked on a low-key single career, launching the EP Estheraho on her behalf very own Marzipan label in 1999 before putting your signature on using the brand-new label The Casa Documenting Company, owned with the Posies’ Ken Stringfellow, and launching her self-titled full-length debut in early 2002.
