Nephew of accordionist/composer Martín Mastre, Colombian folklorist Diómedes Díaz (given birth to Diómedes Dionisio Díaz Maestre) started performing his own compositions within the mid-’70s and soon jad his melody “La Negra” recorded by Jorge Quiroz and Luciano Poveda. Diaz produced his debut alongside Nafer Durán within an record known as Herencia Vallenata, which highlighted the melody “Un Chanchullito.” Then documented Tres Canciones with Elberto López and teamed up with Juan Humberto Rois to create La Locura. After dealing with Nicolás Mendoza, aka Colacho, and Gonzalo Arturo Molina, Diómedes Díaz became a member of Juan Humberto Rois once more in 1988 to record Ganó Un Folclor.
