29th Street Saxophone Quartet

Created in 1982 and made up of altoists Bobby Watson and Ed Jackson, Rich Rothenberg on tenor, and baritonst Jim Hartog, the 29th Street Saxophone Quartet is definitely hard bop’s response to the entire world Saxopone Quartet. In fact, inside the straight-ahead custom, this part-time device (which includes recorded several units for Crimson and Antilles) is rather adventurous.
