Willie Neal Johnson

Known through the entire gospel circuit simply because “THE UNITED STATES Youngster” for his rootsy, blues-driven design, singer Willie Neal Johnson was created and elevated in Tyler, TX; he started performing along with his five siblings while still a kid, and was still in his teenagers when he was tapped to become listed on Rev. C.W. Jackson’s group the Five Means of Pleasure Gospel Singers. A couple of years afterwards he shaped Willie Neal Johnson as well as the Gospel Keynotes with longtime close friends Ralph McGee, Rev. J.D. Talley, Charles Bailey, John Jackson, Lonzo Jackson, and Archie B. McGee; after increasing to popularity over the southwest, the group agreed upon to Nashboro Information, where they have scored a major strike with “Present Me just how.” The Gospel Keynotes continued to record over 20 LPs for Nashboro; line-up adjustments had been common, and among the greater notable abilities which handed through the roster in the next years had been Paul Beasley, Larry McGowan, Paul Beasley, and Donny Timmons. After Nashboro shut its doorways, they agreed upon to Malaco, rechristening themselves Willie Neal Johnson and the brand new Keynotes; their result for the label contains 1992’s THE UNITED STATES Boy Goes House, 1994’s Lord Consider Us Through and 1996’s Help Me to become Strong.
