Was Ist Was (translated in British to “WHAT’S What”) is a long-running — 50-plus years — group of books in Germany, originally targeted at the children’s marketplace but expanded over time to cover almost every subject and interest. Designed to inform and teach on a multitude of topics and occasions, the series is continuing to grow over time to add CD-ROMs, Dvd disks, a tv program, and an interactive site.
