Biography
Melancholy indie-pop outift Very Secretary was shaped in Champaign-Urbana, IL in March of 1997 by singer/guitarist Dave Johnson, his bassist sibling Allen, guitarist Tim Adamson and ex-Braid drummer Roy Ewing. Following a group’s 1998 debut, GREATEST Souvenir, Adamson remaining the line-up and was changed by violinist Rachael Dietkus, heralding a far more lush, mournful audio 1st glimpsed on “Nagarkot,” Extremely Secretary’s contribution to Tree Information’ Postmarked Stamps singles series. The band’s sophomore LP, the beautiful Standing up in the Color, appeared in middle-1999, but while touring the next spring, Extremely Secretary disbanded.
