The Silver Convention

Best remembered because of their disco smash “Journey Robin Journey,” the Munich, Germany-based ensemble Sterling silver Convention was shaped by manufacturers Silvester Levay and Michael Kunze, debuting in 1975 using the LP Save Me personally and credit scoring a U.K. strike with the name monitor. After topping the American graphs with “Journey Robin Journey,” Levay and Kunze recruited a trio of vocalists — Linda Thompson (never to end up being baffled with the same-named vocalist and wife of guitarist Richard Thompson), Ramona Wulf, and Cent McLean — who started appearing publicly beneath the Sterling silver Convention banner; these were featured in the follow-up, “GET RIGHT UP and Boogie (THAT IS RIGHT),” that was also a smash in 1976.
