The Flesh Eaters

Biography

Flesh Eaters was the nominal group founded by post-punk poet Chris D. (Desjardins), a vocalist renowned for his poor public skills (leading to a revolving lineup which highlighted Stan Ridgway, SOMEONE IN PARTICULAR, and Dave Alvin, among a bunch of others) along with a penchant for obsessively morbid lyrical designs. The very first Flesh Eaters full-length, No Queries Asked, made an appearance in 1980 on Upsetter Information. Its follow-up, ONE MINUTE to Pray, ANOTHER to Die, fleshed out Chris D.’s rather unique eyesight with a good music group including Alvin, Doe, and another X mainstay, DJ Bonebrake. Though Desjardins hardly ever got backers as sympathetic and talented from then on, he continuing to record with 1982’s Forever Arrived Today and the next year’s A DIFFICULT Road to check out. By the middle-’80s, nevertheless, Desjardins had expanded tired of documenting a Flesh Eaters LP each year, practically disbanding the currently ramshackle group and founding Divine Horsemen for the 1984 LP Period Stands Still. The modification of path, to a far more dried out and folksy design — though believe it or not pointed and sometimes disturbing — will need to have activated him, for the Horsemen shipped three albums for SST during 1986-1987. Following a 1988 EP, Desjardins shifted to another alias, Rock by Rock, for another SST LP, I Move for Human. For the time being, SST got released two Flesh Eaters compilations and something live LP, and by the switch of the ’90s, the predictably unstable Desjardins again shaped a group across the Flesh Eaters. The very first album by the next convening from the music group, 1991’s Dragstrip Riot, was a double-LP with a fantastic variety of materials which range from cowpunk to steel to gutbucket blues. The next calendar year brought two even more albums, Crucified Fans in Girl Hell as well as the Sex Diary of Mr. Vampire. The brand new millennium, however, noticed the discharge of Ashes of Amount of time in early 2001. Desjardins spent a few of his post-millennial period creating a film, I Move for Individual, that distributed a name with a youthful record. He also done brand-new Flesh Eaters materials with the film which was ultimately released in 2004 beneath the name Miss Muerte.
