Keyboardist Ira Stein and oboist Russel Walder met in 1981 in some get better at classes taught in the Naropa Institute by two of their main affects, Ralph Towner and Paul McCandless. Soon thereafter, Stein And Walder created a demonstration and were authorized to Windham Hill. Over time, their sound offers expanded through the acoustic duets of their 1982 debut, Components, to a fulfilling blend of digital keyboards, drums, bass, and complex studio enhancements.
