Created in 1944, Santiago Jimenez Jr. was a vocalist and accordionist whose dad made a substantial contribution towards the conjunto instrumental design. Conjunto, the accordion-based sociable music of Mexico and South Tx, was a method rooted in custom. While his sibling Flaco Jimenez combined its audio with modern affects like jazz and nation, Santiago upheld the customs of his dad and focused on the essential method of two-button accordion with acoustic guitar and tone of voice accompaniment. He released several albums, including a 1960 cooperation between his sibling and him, several singles on regional pressings, and some Spanish-language produces for the Rounder and Watermelon brands throughout the past due ’80s and 1990s.
