Royal Baths

The Royal Baths certainly are a San Francisco-based indie rock-band whose music is a dark but curiously engaging combination of garage rock sneer, Velvet Underground-style buzz, psychedelic murk, and post-punk throb. Founded in middle-2008 by vocalist/guitarists Jeremy Cox and Jigmae Baer (the second option a former person in Thee Oh Views and Ty Segall), the group was originally known just as Baths; under that name, the group produced its documented debut having a cassette-only launch on Wizard Hill Records, accompanied by a 7″ solitary on Rad Important Information. Cox and Baer after that found out L.A. digital designer Will Wiesenfeld was using the name the Baths, plus they added “Royal” towards the moniker to create themselves aside. A duplicate of their cassette was approved along to Woodsist Information, a well known New York-based indie label, which struck a cope with the Royal Baths, liberating their first full-length recording, Litanies, in nov 2010. When the recording was documented, Cox and Baer had been followed by bassist Tanner Griepentrog and drummer Sheila Imandoust, but by enough time the music group began touring in support, the Royal Baths experienced a new tempo section, Eva Hannan on bass and Eden Birch on drums. Frustrated using the picture in Frisco, the duo relocated to NY and released sophomore work Better Luck Following Existence on Kanine Information.
