Named following the notoriously boring art-house erotica flick on Seinfeld, the hard-rocking post-grunge strap Rochelle, Rochelle shaped in NORTH PARK, CA, in August 2000. Vocalist/guitarist Erik Berg, guitarist Gaylord Vehicle Brocklin, bassist Nicholas Sekol, and drummer Jeff Grasmick started playing around the region and gaining publicity on regional radio, and quickly released an unbiased, self-titled debut EP. In 2001, the music group was chosen to take part in the initial Coke-sponsored SONGS Awards competition for unsigned rings.
