Richard Loring

b. 23 July 1917, Chicago, Illinois, USA, d. 28 August 2005, LA, California, USA. After completing his research in Chicago and Cincinnati, Loring transferred to NY where he joined up with NBC. Afterwards, in Hollywood, he proved helpful at many studios as both vocal trainer and composer, included in this Universal in which a regular collaborator was lyricist Diane Lampert. Movies which he proved helpful included RESTRAIN The Dawn (1941, composing the name melody), Hi, Great Lookin’! and Match Miss Bobby Socks (both 1944), both which highlighted his ‘Deacon Jones’, created with Johnny Lange and Hy Heath. Starring in the last mentioned film was Bob Crosby; also highlighted was Louis Jordan, who documented ‘Deacon Jones’. In 1957 Loring constructed music for The Snow Queen, a live action-animated film manufactured in Russia. In 1959 he done Procedure Petticoat, The Crazy AS WELL AS THE Innocent and Home On Haunted Hill, composing the theme for the last mentioned. He also proved helpful at Disney on Toby Tyler, Or Ten Weeks USING A Circus (1960), composing the name melody and ‘Biddle-Dee-Dee’. Loring’s tv work included composing music for the series Rat Patrol (1966-68), aswell for one-off dramas.
