Richard Adler

Adler, the child of the concert pianist, was mostly a self-taught musician. After providing within the U.S. Navy he began writing tracks, and in 1950 he started collaborating with Jerry Ross. Their initial success jointly was Rags to Riches and their initial musical, The Pajama Video game, brought them reputation for what sort of songs caused the story and because of their integration of American talk idioms. The set also had written Damn Yankees, a musical humor version from the Faust tale. Adler was much less effective after Ross’ loss of life, but continued to create for advertisements and tv musicals in addition to offering as an arts advisor to the Light Home from 1965-1969. He also created several Broadway displays. Richard Adler passed away at his house in Southampton, NY in June 2012 at age 90.
