Reading Rainbow

Nostalgically named following the ‘80s children’s PBS television series, and boasting a website in dedication towards the host (www.myspace.com/levarmotherfuckingburton, Reading Rainbow popped through to the skirt from the lo-fi indie development in later 2009. Philadelphia transplants Robbie Garcia and Sarah Everton produced the band in the ashes of the screamy Richmond, VA no influx band known as Forensic Teenagers. After their drummer bailed on the gig, Everton (a vocalist with limited musical skills, who was simply essentially making sounds on the circuit bent key pad) considered the drums herself, and discovered how exactly to play on the stripped-down kit made up of only a snare and a flooring tom in about fourteen days. Embracing minimalism, large reverb saturation, and an analog visual, the duo began documenting with an Tascam 388 eight-track reel to reel, and debuted with an EP of demos and a vinyl fabric LP entitled Mystical Participation prior to making plans release a Music to Sing in early 2010.
