Prequel Tapes

Marco Freivogel of Berlin-based techno duo Workout 1 uses the alias Prequel Tapes to art haunted, tense electronic soundscapes evoking hazy remembrances of the first rave picture and industrial tradition. He started the task in early 2015 when he found DAT recordings of his fresh wave/industrial band from your past due ’80s/early ’90s. He integrated examples from these tapes in to the experimental music he was composing on classic drum devices and analog synthesizers. He performed a live concert as Prequel Tapes, and Fink (who was simply in attendance) instantly wanted to launch music from the task. Prequel Tapes remixed Fink’s tunes “Fall in to the Light” and “As well Late,” as well as the full-length debut Internal Systems made an appearance on Fink’s R’COUP’D imprint (a sublabel of Ninja Melody) in November of 2015.
