Paul O’Reilly

b. Cork, Eire. This Irish singer-songwriter surfaced in the brand new millennium in the same Dublin-based acoustic picture that spawned David Kitt and John Hegarty. O’Reilly was raised in Swords, north Dublin, and his preliminary choice was for American weighty rock rings. By the finish from the 90s his musical leanings got transformed to acoustic folk, and O’Reilly go about going after his new enthusiasm using the same zeal he previously previously reserved for Weapons N’Roses. He released his personal fanzine Melancholia and organised gigs in Dublin’s Blue Space Café, forming portion of a new influx of Irish singer-songwriters including Kitt, Hegarty, Adrian Crowley, and Steve Fanagan. O’Reilly’s shows were significant for his warm, expressive vocals and nice finger selecting, and in a short time he had authorized a recording agreement with Volta Information. He documented his debut VERY FIRST THING EACH DAY with maker and regular live collaborator Fanagan, with the casual sample offering discrete accompaniment to O’Reilly’s hushed vocals. Released in past due 2001, the recording gained a string of superb evaluations in the Irish press, with unavoidable but favourable evaluations to the task of UK folk rock and roll tale Nick Drake.
