When Afro-Celt AUDIO SYSTEM founder Simon Emmerson was asked simply by journalist/DJ/maker Phil Meadley to accomplish a remix, the worldbeat DJ group the Outernationalists was created. Prior to the Afro-Celts, Emmerson experienced worked like a DJ and in a variety of audio systems, and by 2003 he thought it was time and energy to try his hands at it once again. Meadley produced a name for himself composing for Urb and Polish Publication and compiling the Asian Chill and Indestructible Arabian Beats CDs for Manteca. While creating a compilation that could advantage the Bushmen from the Kalahari, Meadley considered Emmerson for any remix along with a companionship began. Weighing their shared admiration of global defeat tradition and Coldcut’s Journeys By DJ, in addition to the truth both were seeking to DJ, they made a decision to form their very own audio system, the Outernationalists. By using Afro-Celts Martin Russell and Mass, the duo documented their debut blend, Ethnomixicology, released by Six Levels in early 2004.
