Maybe a precursor to a “second wave” from the Bristol sound, England’s Malakai certainly are a duo composed of vocalist Gee and multi-instrumentalist Scott. Both got an early on break after becoming “found out” by among their hometown’s even more precious musical sons: Portishead’s Geoff Barrow. With Barrow’s assistance — and label — as support, Malakai released the 12″ solitary “Fading Globe,” which also came out within the soundtrack for a worldwide warming film demonstrated in the Glastonbury Event in 2007. A hype built across the music group, and Malakai quickly signed with main label Island. In Sept of 2007, Malakai released their 1st work for his or her new house, the EP Fading Globe.
