Though their initial official discharge didn’t appear until 2000, Opprobrium actually began life in 1986 as an extreme metallic band formed by brothers Francis (guitar/vocals) and Moyses Howard (drums). Natives of Rio de Janeiro, the Howards emigrated to New Orleans and produced a music group known as Incubus (no regards to the ’90s alt-metal clothing). The initial incarnation highlighted bassist/business lead vocalist Scot LaTour, as well as the trio’s 1987 demonstration Supernatural Death arrived them a cope with the tiny Brutal Information imprint. Their public debut, Serpent Enticement, premiered in 1988; nevertheless, Latour departed shortly afterward, departing Francis to dominate vocal responsibilities.
