Olivier Baumont

French harpsichordist Olivier Baumont has distinguished himself like a performer and scholar, focusing on French Baroque repertoire. He used the harpsichord without learning piano 1st, posting his family’s like for French background of the seventeenth and eighteenth generations. He researched with Kenneth Gilbert and Huguette Dreyfus and caused Gustav Leonhardt in his get better at classes in Cologne. He was granted first reward in harpsichord (1981) and in chamber music (1982) in the Paris Conservatory and earned the Concours de Solistes de Radio France in 1982. Other recordings consist of functions by Handel, Purcell, Johann Sebastian Bach, eighteenth hundred years Russian composers, and eighteenth hundred years American composers. His disk from the harpsichord functions by Jean-François Dandrieu was granted the Choc du Monde de la Musique. His twentieth hundred years repertoire for the harpsichord contains functions by Manuel de Falla, Milhaud, and Poulenc. In Sept, 2001, Baumont became teacher of harpsichord in the Paris Conservatory. He’s the author of the biography of François Couperin, offers edited harpsichord functions by Michel Corrette and Jacques Duphly, and offers contributed scholarly content articles to varied musicological journals.
