The Natti Like Joys were formed from the couple duo of Tony ‘Jati’ Allen from Kingston, Jamaica and Sonia ‘Marla’ Abel from Brixton, London, Britain. Allen initially performed bass and connected himself with neighbouring heroes, Bob Marley, Tyrone Downie and Supercat. Abel and her cousin had been members from the teenage enthusiasts rock and roll group, the Lovejoys. The group discovered success in the united kingdom using the Lloyd Barnes -created ‘Sweet Emotions’. It had been at Barnes’ Bronx-based studio room that both Allen and Abel initial fulfilled. The duo produced A&A Reggae, and in 1998 reconvened because the Natti Like Joys. They started working with several reggae superstars including Ken Boothe, the Congos and Nadine Sutherland.
