Mighty Avengers

A Rugby based quartet, the Mighty Avengers dropped in to the orbit of Rolling Rocks supervisor Andrew Loog Oldham, who got the music group signed to England’s Decca Information in 1964. The music group — Tony Campbell on business lead acoustic guitar and vocals, Mike Linnell on bass and business lead vocals, Tony Machon on tempo acoustic guitar and harmonica, and Biffo Beech in the drum package — released four singles in 2 yrs and produced a niche of covering tunes by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, which just “(Walkin’ Thru The) Sleepy Town” and “A LOT in Like” available much of the feeling. The first is intrigued from the B-side of their last solitary, “Sir Edward and Woman Jane,” which manages to press references towards the creator and mind of Decca and a significant Jagger/Richards track into its name. In 1966, business lead guitarist Tony Campbell installed with ex-Pinkerton’s Assorted Colors bassist Barrie Bernard and keyboardist Clive Scott and drummer Des Dyer, who’d created tracks for Engelbert Humperdinck, to create Jigsaw, which got a long, effective history in Britain.
