A one-off collaboration create by manufacturer Ron Miller, Moderate Great was Miller on stand-up acoustic bass; Robert Arron on piano and tenor saxophone; Richard Dworkin on drums; and A.J. Mantas on vibes and piano; with vocals by Alex Chilton (well in to the jazz and blues vibe that characterized his single profession in the ’90s), Adele Bertei (the Contortions, Thomas Dolby), Angel Torsen, and post-punk NY scene fixture Adam White. (Light also doubled on alto saxophone on his paths.) Medium Great — named obviously following the cult preferred film by Haskell Wexler — released one record, a 1991 tribute towards the past due cool jazz vocalist/trumpeter Chet Baker known as Imagination, which each vocalist essays several jazz and pop specifications connected with Baker.
