The winner from the 1977 Eurovision Melody Competition, where she represented France, singer Marie Myriam was, actually, Portuguese. She was created in Bragia, Portugal, on, may 8, 1957. Her earning entrance, “L’Oiseau et la Enfant,” continued to become sizable hit about European countries, and Myriam continues to be among France’s best-known Eurovision competition, occasionally showing up at latter-day contests to provide the results from the France voting. She also reprised her earning melody at Eurovision’s 50th wedding anniversary concert in Copenhagen in 2005.
