Kit Watkins

The North Carolina-based keyboardist creates finely crafted music that always appears to straddle a small number of genres easily, and resists easy identification using the “modern” tag. He was a founding person in the short-lived however highly original intensifying ’70s band Content the person. After briefly signing up for the United kingdom prog rock-band Camel in 1979, Watkins started issuing single albums, like the especially noteworthy Labyrinth (1980), Structures of Brain (1982, with Brad Allen), and WITH TIME (1985, with previous Happy the person drummer Coco Roussel). In following years Watkins continuing producing consistently appealing music from his house studio, sketching on his first-rate key pad abilities and his eager hearing for sonic fine detail. He began discovering a darker, even more ambient part with the discharge of his two Idea Shades albums in the first ’90s, and continuing to concern albums on his Linden Music label — A Different Look at (1991), Kinetic Vapors (1993), Holographic Tapestries (1995), and Beauty Drifting (1996) — as the 10 years advanced. Although Watkins finished Linden Music in 1997, he offers continuing to record and concern CDs prolifically on an unbiased basis during following years, along with his latest discography like the Unseen (2000), Music for the finish (2001), Unraveled which Period and Space (2003), Soaring Petals (2004), Globe Fiction (2005), and SkyZone (2006).
