Joy Harjo

Blessed in Tulsa, Okay, and an associate from the Muskogee Tribe, Pleasure Harjo has searched for to mix poetry with music, incorporating Local American tribal music, jazz, and rock and roll. While participating in the Institute of American Indian Arts in New Mexico, where she was learning painting and movie theater, Harjo begun to compose poetry reflecting the politics climate for Indigenous Americans, eventually viewing her work released. While surviving in Denver, she used the saxophone, viewing music in an effort to further exhibit her function, and upon her go back to New Mexico, produced Pleasure Harjo and Poetic Justice. She’s appeared on many releases collecting the task of Local American performers and musicians, in addition to Letter From the finish from the 20th Hundred years, a spoken-word assortment of her work supported by music.
