Jim Roberts

Most widely known for his association using the past due trumpet grasp Howard McGhee, Jim Roberts is an extremely lyrical and melodic pianist that has named Dave Brubeck, Oscar Peterson, Expenses Evans and Herbie Hancock while main affects. Roberts was created in Melrose Recreation area, IL., a Chicago suburb, and resided presently there as a youngster before shifting to northern NJ with his family members and going to junior high and senior high school presently there. Roberts became thinking about jazz piano whenever a senior high school friend changed him to Brubeck, his first impact. As a adult, he majored in music at Ohio’s Muskingum University and begun to combine Brubeck’s impact with this of various other pianists, including Evans and Peterson. When he was 25 in 1972, he shifted to NY and was employed being a sideman by McGhee, whom he remained with until 1978.
