Offering multi-instrumentalists Ryan Fuson, Kyle Hager, Julián Ruiz, Joey Make, and Dustin Zozaya, Holy Influx were created in 2008 when Hager and Ruiz made a decision to keep their hometown for the greater musically friendly environment of Austin; the music artists first drove from Un Paso to Santa Monica, California to capture a rare display by My Bloody Valentine, and made their in the past to their fresh hometown. After producing a name for themselves in Austin (and getting regular guests in the annual Austin Psych Fest), they released their 1st LP in 2011, Blade Hits (the name originates from their preferred method of smoking cigarettes hashish). In 2012, Holy Influx released an EP, The Bad Provides Landed, and these initial two releases had been paired through to a 2013 collection known as Evil Strikes. In early 2014, Holy Influx released their second correct album, simply entitled Relax. It had been released with the partnership from the Reverberation Understanding Culture and Burger Information. The next season they released The Evil Provides Landed, Pt. 2, a assortment of b-sides from Relax and demos for another record, Freaks of Nurture.
