Deathwitch

1 of 2 key side tasks for Sacramentum guitarist/vocalist Niklas “Terror” Rudolfsson (another being loss of life/doomsters Runemagick), Sweden’s Deathwitch play deliberately coarse and unrefined thrash steel with deathly overtones along with a shocking, intentionally moronic mixture of Satanic and scatological lyrics recalling older Scandinavian and Brazilian serves in the mid to past due 1980’s. Initially produced in 1996 by using vocalist Reaper (also Bewitched), guitarist Alf Necrohell (a.k.a. Runemagick partner Fredrik Johnsson), and bassist Woman Loss of life (a.k.a. Emma Karlsson, also of Runemagick), Deathwitch uncorked an instant and bludgeoning succession of albums to the end from the ‘90s, including 1996’s Triumphant Devastation, 1997’s Dawn of Armageddon, 1998’s THE BEST Loss of life and 1999’s Monumental Mutilations (the final two offering guitarist Doomentor, bassist Peter “Carnivore” Palmdahl and drummer Corpse). Even while, the music group hardly ever performed live, and required an extended break before once more revamping their line-up with Slade Doom (acoustic guitar) and Morbid Juttu (drums), and unleashing 2002’s Deathfuck Rituals and 2003’s Assault, Blasphemy, Sodomy. Obviously, Deathwitch aren’t more likely to proceed anywhere — up or down — but will most likely stay an on-going concern for a long time to come.
