Déanta

Deanta (pronounced: Jaunt-a) is among the best traditional Celtic rings in Ireland. Shaped in North Ireland’s State Antriam, the group is well known for its restricted, ensemble, playing as well as the crystalline vocals of All-Ireland champ vocalist Mary Dillon. In his liner records for Deanta’s self-titled 1993 recording, Jackie Dixon required a similar look at, writing, “The aged values natural in traditional music are kept intact and so are by no means under danger from modern affects that the music group judiciously introduce to their repertoire.” The musical basis of Deanta was equipped by Katie O’Brien, who performed fiddle and viola, and her sibling, Eoghan, who performed acoustic guitar and harp. The initial group also presented Paul Mullan (flute, whistles), Clodagh Warnock (bouzouki, fiddle, bodhran, percussion) and Mary Dillon (vocals, synthesizer, acoustic guitar, harp). By enough time which they released their second recording, Prepared for the Surprise, in 1994, Mullan have been changed by Deidre Havlin and Rosie Mulholland (keyboards, fiddle) have been added. Although these were one of the better selling acts around the Green Linnet label, each musician managed a day work as well as the group toured hardly ever. In early 1998, Deanta announced that these were disbanding.
