Damon Aaron is a triple threat — a singer/songwriter/maker — but he’s a perfectionist, too. That’s area of the cause it required this “soul-folk” vocalist 14 years to finally concern his full-length debut. Another cause can be that Aaron is a lot in demand being a sideman. Divine Styler, Breakestra, DJ No one, and I-Wolf possess all utilized him, but this electronica/substitute rap history doesn’t provide a hint of Aaron’s acoustic aspect. Performances on compilations like Dublab Presents: Freeways and Loosegroove’s Funky Precedent possess provided listeners a flavor of Aaron’s Nick Drake fits Oval fits Anticon audio, as do his 2003 EP, Cymbidium. The Plug Analysis label got the honor of issuing Aaron’s full-length debut, Ballast, in-may of 2005. Highlands, for Ubiquity, implemented three years afterwards.
