Cool Ghouls

Although their name comes from a few of George Clinton’s Funkadelic stage banter, SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA quartet Cool Ghouls have significantly more in keeping with classic garage and melodic, mid-’60s psychedelia. Previous high school close friends from a Bay Region suburb, the music group includes guitarists Pat McDonald and Ryan Wong, bassist Pat Thomas, and drummer Alex Fleshman, with McDonald, Wong, and Thomas all writing lead vocal responsibilities. Mixing the organic, primitive audio of acts just like the Troggs as well as the Monks using the harmonies and class from the Millennium, the group’s initial discharge was the six-track Alright Cassette in past due 2012. They quickly obtained admirers in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA and beyond with regional hero Tim Cohen (the new & Onlys) jumping up to speed to both champ the music group and create their 2013 self-titled full-length. Functioning quickly, they came back a year later on with 2014’s A Swirling Open fire Burning up Through the Rye. For his or her third album, Great Ghouls asked songwriter Kelley Stoltz to create the classes. Stoltz also performed guitar using the group in the studio room, as do pedal metal guitarist Tom Heyman. The recording Animal Races premiered by Vacant Cellar in August 2016.
