Busytoby

The medial side project of Wolfie singer/bassist Joe Ziemba and singer/keyboardist Amanda Lyons, indie pop combo Busytoby first began taking shape in middle-1996. Originally dubbed Stereotomy, they distributed copies of the debut cassette, The Individual May be the Keyboard’s Electric motor, in 1997; although Wolfie continued to be Ziemba and Lyons’ principal creative electric outlet, the duo (who acquired subsequently acquired an antique Wurlitzer body organ) soon documented another cassette, YOU LIKE the Crickets, and — by adding after that Sarge bassist Rachel Switzky — transformed their name to Busytoby. An individual, “Me, My Drums and you also,” made an appearance on Parasol in 1998, and after adding keyboardist Jenny Mangun, Busytoby performed their initial live schedules. As grad college compelled Switzky to relinquish her responsibilities, the rest of the trio released its initial full-length work, It’s Good to become Alive, in nov 1999.
