Biography

Blue was a Uk pop/rock and roll group formed in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1973 by Timmy Donald (b. 1946, Bristol, Avon, Britain) (drums), Ian MacMillan (b. 1947, Paisley, Strathclyde, Scotland) (bass, acoustic guitar, vocal), and Hugh Nicholson (b. 1949, Rutherglen, Strathclyde, Scotland) (acoustic guitar, vocal, key pad). Authorized to Elton John’s Rocket Information label (John also created them), they released their self-titled debut recording, after that added Robert “Smiggy” Smith (b. 1946, Kiel, Germany) (acoustic guitar) for his or her second, Life within the Navy. These were after that reorganized, with MacMillan and Nicholson staying and adding Charlie Smith (drums) and David Nicholson (acoustic guitar). This lineup obtained a U.S. singles graph access and U.K. Best 40 strike with “Gonna Catch Your Center” and documented the third recording Another NIGHTTIME Flight (1977) as well as the 4th recording Fool’s Party (1979), and Blue split up.
