Betty Foley

b. 3 Feb 1933, Chicago, Illinois, USA, d. 1990. The child of country celebrity Crimson Foley, her mom passed away in childbirth and she grew up by her stepmother in Berea, Kentucky. She discovered guitar as a kid with 17, she started to show up regularly within the Renfro Valley Barn Dance, a display that her dad experienced helped to produce with John Lair around 1937. Her performing obtained her a documenting agreement with Decca Information, and in 1954, she experienced lots 8 strike with ‘As Much As I’m Worried’, followed another year by a high 3 with ‘A Pleased Brain’, both becoming duets with her dad. She remaining theBarn Dance in 1954 and in 1956 and 1957, she was a normal within the Midwestern Hayride on WLW Cincinnati and in addition played within the Grand Ole Opry. In 1958, she starred on WNOX Knoxville’sTennessee Barndance, before shifting towards the Louisiana Hayride on KWKH Shreveport. After departing Decca, she documented for Bandera, getting lots 7 strike (her last) with ‘Aged Moon’ in 1959. She ultimately became a citizen performer, with her dad, in the ABC’s networked Jubilee USA tv program on KWTO Springfield, Missouri. After retiring being a performer, she acquired a business curiosity about Kentucky Fried Poultry.
