Four years before Paul Simon and Artwork Garfunkel (who have already been “Paul and Artie” regardless) brought their folk-based vocalizing to Columbia Records, the label was host to a fairly different duo using the same given names: Artwork & Paul. Artwork Podell and Paul Potash had been young denizens from the middle- to past due ’50s NY folk scene if they decided to begin performing collectively in Greenwich Town.
