Ana Egge

Ana Egge was created in Estevan, Saskatchewan, and was raised in the tiny northwest North Dakota town of Ambrose, where her dad farmed wheat. The Egges, referred to by Ana as latter-day hippies, journeying backwards and forwards between North Dakota and New Mexico within a ’69 Dodge truck through a lot of Ana’s youngsters until they resolved in Silver Town, New Mexico, to open up an alternative college when Ana was 12. Her wealthy childhood encounters and keen belief led her to songwriting, with the encouragement of Sarah Brownish, Egge visited Austin in 1994 to record a demonstration. The producing tape received admirers like Asleep in the Steering wheel drummer Dave Sanger, who eventually create her first recording, and resulted in Egge’s permanent proceed to the Tx capital. She quickly received the 1995 Town Voyage Songwriter Search and a vacation to NEW YORK. After winning many more awards around the Austin music picture, she released her first recording, 1997’s River Beneath the Street. By 1998 she was touring with Grammy-winning pop/folk designer Shawn Colvin.
