Keeping the thought of the supergroup alive, Sweden’s Amason gathered the talents of a few of Sweden’s finest artists of the first 2000s to generate some very slick indie pop that’s pitched somewhere within the soft rock and roll melancholy of Fleetwood Mac and the complete appear of Peter Bjorn and John. Made up of Miike Snow’s Pontus Winnberg on secrets, Dungen’s Gustav Ejstes on acoustic guitar, secrets, and vocals, bassist Petter Winnberg, drummer Nils Törnqvist of Small Majorette, and vocalist Amanda Bergman of Hajen and Idiot Blowing wind, the group created from the INGRID music collective. Having known one another for years, posting stages and arranging sessions, they naturally decided to begin writing tunes and playing collectively in 2012. The 1st recorded consequence of their cooperation was “Margins,” an individual released in early 2013, a self-titled EP in August 2013 on INGRID, that was accompanied by two singles in 2014, “Alen” and “Duvan.” A co-release between Fairfax and INGRID, the group’s 1st album Sky Town premiered in early 2015.
