Although members of Adair had played collectively under a different name since 1993, the St. Louis-bred rock and roll quintet formally had become in 2001. The lineup culled collectively members from many area bands, specifically Rob Tweedie (vocals), Josh Goldenhersh (acoustic guitar/vocals), Patrick Baum (acoustic guitar/vocals), Matt Tuttle (drums), and Jeff Meyer (bass, ex-Open Hands). After solidifying the lineup, they documented the five-song EP The Long term Bruise and relocated to California. Regular touring helped the music group assemble a solid underground pursuing; their function ethic eventually got them on trips alongside rings like Hawthorne Heights, Glasseater, Calico Program, and A Wilhelm Scream. Without distribution, the music group offered over 7,000 copies of their EP before getting the interest of Warcon Businesses. Adair inked a cope with the label in early 2006 and strike the road to get Story of the entire year. Performing also around the year’s Flavor of Chaos tour, Adair’s full-length debut, The Damage of Everything May be the Starting of Something New, made an appearance that February. Summer time 2006 was spent beneath the warm sun in the Warped Tour.
