Ensemble Resonanz

Outfit Resonanz is a German string orchestra focused on the performance of contemporary music. Located in Hamburg, the ensemble was founded in 1994 as an offshoot from the Youthful German Philharmonic, students orchestra. It had been the ensemble-in-residence in Darmstadt from 2002 to 2004, and from 2005 to 2008 it provided an annual group of concerts in Hamburg. The group’s head since 2010 is certainly cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras, that has performed as soloist aswell as conductor and creative director. Outfit Resonanz provides participated in shows with modern composers, solo music artists, choirs, and orchestras, and spent some time working with stars, directors, and designers. The orchestra provides performed at many music celebrations in Europe, like the Salzburg Celebration, Bach Week in Anspach, the Ultrasound Celebration, as well as the Huddersfield Modern Music Celebration, among others. Outfit Resonanz has documented for Mode Information, Kairos, and Harmonia Mundi.
