Slank

Although continuous roster changes and inner tensions pestered the band, Indonesia’s Slank could face the adversity at once, and record and release 20-plus albums inside a career that was to last for a lot more than 25 years. Shaped in Jakarta in 1983, Slank — the group’s preliminary lineup was Kaka (vocals), Pay out (guitars), Bongky Marcel (bass), Indra Qadarsih (keyboards), and Bimbim (drums) — would ply their trade for several years before finally getting a offer and liberating their first recording, Suit Match…Hehehe, in 1991. Following that, more albums, many of them commercially effective, adopted, but Slank was suffering from several defections, some concerning personal problems, others relating to internal tensions centered around creative decisions. The negativity was overcome, and over another twenty years, Slank could boost their profile, touring the globe and maintaining a higher commercial worth. In 2007, Slank released recording number 20, Sluggish But Sure.
