Hand of Doom

Tribute bands have already been around for a long time, but it’s unusual for any tribute band to become led with a renowned saving artist, aside from issue a saving domestically. But that’s just what ex-Hole/Smashing Pumpkins bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur did with her Dark Sabbath tribute clothing, Hands of Doom. The group came into being whenever a friend of Melissa’s, Molly Stern, started playing bass, and inquired how she could find out the device the fastest, to which Auf Der Maur replied, “find out Black Sabbath tunes.” It wasn’t a long time before the duo created Hand of Doom – with Auf Der Maur managing vocal responsibilities, and such extra users as ex-Wallflowers/Natalie Vendor drummer Pedro Yanowitz and guitarist Man Stevens putting your signature on on aswell. During March of 2002, the music group played many of displays in LA, at such locations as the Whiskey, the Troubador, as well as the Viper Space — leading to the discharge of Reside in Los Angeles later on the same 12 months. Although a lot of the group’s repertoire targets Ozzy Osbourne-era Sabbath, they are doing cover at least one track from your Ronnie Wayne Dio-era, “the Mob Guidelines,” where Auf Der Maur hands on the mic to a superstar visitor — including Nick Oliveri (who guests on Reside in LA) and Wayne Iha, amongst others.
