Alcides Dias Lopes

Alcides Dias Lopes was a famous sambista from the Portela samba college. His biggest strike, “Vivo Isolado perform Mundo,” was created in 1947 and was documented by Candeia. Additional expressive compositions of his (together with Monarco) had been “Enganadora” and “Amor de Malandro” (both documented by João Nogueira), “Você Pensa Que European union Me Apaixonei” (documented by Roberto Ribeiro), and “Se European union Soubesse Vem Depois” (documented by Beth Carvalho). Other compositions by Lopes with illustrious companions like Nelson Cavaquinho stay unpublished. Under no circumstances having had the chance of recording like a single artist, his just recordings had been like a duet with Ivone Lara in the tracks “Quando a Maré” (Antônio Caetano) and “Já Chegou Quem Faltava” (Nilson Gonçalves), that have been included on her behalf recording Samba, Minha Verdade, Minha Raiz.
