Guitar Pete Franklin

b. Edward Lamonte Franklin, 16 January 1928, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, d. 31 July 1975, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. His mom wrote many tunes on her behalf lodger Leroy Carr, and Franklin’s desire for music created early, you start with piano, which he was as adept as on acoustic guitar. His acoustic guitar playing was affected by local music artists Scrapper Blackwell and Jesse Ellery (who documented as accompanist to Jack port ‘Champ’ Dupree), but he could switch his playing totally to match with an amplified Chicago ensemble. Like a pianist, Franklin was, and in addition, indebted to Leroy Carr, but on both devices he was a genuine and remarkably achieved musician, who was simply not recorded towards the extent his skill merited.
