Quiet Village

Setting themselves as the primary producers of what they contact (perhaps somewhat sarcastically) “sophisticated exotica for adults,” Calm Village — Joel Martin (aka Zeus) and Matt Edwards (Radio Slave) — released a trio of 12″ singles across 2005 and 2006 for Whatever WE WISH. While the resources of their sample-heavy materials became more and more known (the starting towards the Alan Parsons Project’s Pyramid, Janis Ian’s Giorgio Moroder-produced “Journey TOO MUCH,” Captain & Tennille’s “Hardly ever Make Your Move TOO EARLY,” etc), curiosity about the releases didn’t wane; demand considerably outstripped sales. 2 yrs afterwards, !K7 remedied the source issue by issuing Silent Movie, a full-length discharge containing five from the six monitors in the WWW singles, furthermore to seven new monitors. Martin and Edwards’ self-issued Fragments of Dread mixes have just improved the duo’s popularity for rotating the obscure and terminally uncool into silver.
