Echospace

A Detroit-Chicago cooperation between prolific and low-key ambient dub-techno maker Pole Modell (Deepchord) and Steven Hitchell (Soultek), Echospace introduced themselves with some 12″ singles on England’s Contemporary Love label, which were compiled on the CD named following the series, The Coldest Time of year (2007). The same 12 months, the duo also released a set of singles on Lee Purkis’ Lot of money8 label, aswell as yet another launch on echospace[detroit]. Another album, the fairly harsh Liumin, adopted this year 2010. Much like a lot of Modell’s result, Echospace had been deeply rooted in the essential Channel/Chain Reaction college of dub-techno, emphasizing deep throbs and alternately calming and unsettling atmosphere (manipulated field recordings, generally).
