The Breaux Fréres

Accordionist Amadée, fiddler Ophy, and guitarist Clifford Breaux were the 3 sons of Auguste Breaux, among Lousiana’s most talented accordionists from the pre-recording period. Collectively, the trio documented several edges for Vocalion. As soon as 1929, Amadée got documented the first edition of the best Cajun regular “Jolie Blon” like a single work, and sister Cleoma was the first ever to record any Cajun music, with her spouse Joseph Falcon. The Breaux Freres documented through the early ’30s, five tracks of which show up on the Columbia compilation Cajun, Vol. 1: Abbeville Break down.
