Defend Moscow

With its focus on synthesizers and impassioned boy-girl vocals, Defend Moscow’s retro-minded pop recalls the sounds of Human League, Family pet Shop Boys, and other stalwarts of British dance music. The music group took main in early 2007, when longtime close friends Jon Beck and Dave Fawbert started using Fawbert’s synthesizer to create songs. After the two experienced amassed plenty of synth pop materials, they opened up their doorways to new users, including Norwegian vocalist Sofie Storaas (who relocated towards the U.K. to become listed on the group) and drummer Adam Pickering, students in the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Bassist Rick Elmos was the last to become listed on the multinational quintet, which started releasing materials via Fawbert’s personal KIDS label.
