Another of the present day revivialists, pianist John Arpin’s ragtime recreations are faithful and enjoyable. He navigates the challenging passages steadily, and provides the listener an excellent feeling of ragtime’s accuracy, feel and speed. His recordings are mainly single, though he do execute a quartet function Ragtime Piano in 1973.
